T Astana Bangun Sejahtera, a prominent subsidiary of the renowned Malaysian conglomerate Genting Group, officially initiated construction on Wednesday for a state-of-the-art stem cell clinic located in Bali’s Sanur Special Economic Zone (SEZ).
The innovative clinic, named Fontaine Vitale, is set to span a 0.9-hectare area under a long-term 30-year lease agreement, and it is strategically designed to cater to both local residents and international patients seeking advanced medical treatments.
In an effort to enhance its operational capabilities, Astana plans to collaborate closely with two esteemed local entities, PT Sentosa Bersama Mitra and PT Bintang Graha Hijau, ensuring a strong community-based approach.
For the cutting-edge medical technology at Fontaine Vitale, the company intends to capitalize on Genting’s strategic partnership with the United States-based biotechnology firm Celularity, which is recognized for its pioneering work in developing placenta-derived stem cells as well as a range of innovative biomaterial products.
Stem cells are a unique type of cell with the remarkable ability to develop into various specialized cell types and possess the capability of self-renewal. Due to these extraordinary properties, researchers are actively studying the potential for injecting stem cells into patients as a novel approach to treating injuries and curing debilitating degenerative diseases, such as Parkinson’s disease and osteoarthritis.
Stem cells can be sourced from umbilical cord blood, bone marrow, and fat tissue, offering diverse avenues for therapeutic applications.
With exclusive interviews and in-depth coverage of the region’s most pressing business issues, “Prospects” is the go-to source for staying ahead of the curve in Indonesia’s rapidly evolving business landscape.
