| T-20 Ranking: Virat Kohli climbs to 14th position

Dubai: Indian player Virat Kohli has won the latest Twenty20 ranking of the International Cricket Council (ICC). Kohli, who climbed 14th in the list of batsmen, reached 15th. Kohli was helped by his good performance in the Asia Cup which concluded in UAE.

Virat Kohli scored 276 runs in five matches in the Asia Cup, including a maiden century in children’s cricket. Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan is the top batsman with 810 points. South Africa’s Aiden Markra (792) is followed by Pakistan captain Babar Azah (771). India’s Suryakumar Yadav is at the fourth position with 755 points. Suriya is the only Indian star in the top ten. David Malan (England), Aaron Finch (Australia), Devon Conway (New Zealand), Pathum Nisanka (Sri Lanka), Mohammad Wasim (UAE) and Reza Henticus (South Africa) are in positions five to 10.

India’s Bhuvveshwar Kumar has slipped down one place to seventh among bowlers, despite leading the Asia Cup wicket-takers with 11 victims. Vanindu Hazaranga finished sixth for Sri Lanka who won the tournament with a brilliant all-round performance. Australia’s Josh Hazelwood is leading the bowlers with 792 points. South Africa’s Tabreez Shamsi, England’s Adil Rashid, Australia’s Adam Zampa and Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan are in positions two to five. Mahesh Thikshana (Sri Lanka), Mujibur Rahman (Afghanistan) and Aqeel Hussain (West Indies) are the other players in the top ten.

Among the all-rounders, Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan retained the top spot with 248 points. Hardik Pandya is the only Indian in the top 10, dropping one place to seventh. Wanindu Hazaranga of Sri Lanka climbed four places behind Muhammad Nabi (Afghanistan) and Moeen Ali (England). Glenn Maxwell (Australia), J.J. Smith (Namibia), Zeeshan Maqsood (Oman), Rohan Mustafa (UAE) and Deependra Airey (Nepal) took the following positions.
