“Systematic Extermination in Gaza, We Recall the Ambassador” –

New moments of tension in Gaza after Israel’s attack on a school, which Tel Aviv claimed was a Hamas command center. Giuseppe Conte, leader of the Five Star Movement, criticized the Jewish state’s attitude: “Another hundred Palestinian civilians, many children and women, torn to pieces by Israeli bombs dropped on a Gaza school-shelter crowded for prayer time. Every day a new massacre, even more atrocious, while those who survive the bombs die of hunger, thirst and disease. A systematic extermination carried out by an extremist government that justifies every massacre and theorizes a new ‘morality’ that allows two million Palestinians to starve to death. Condemnations are no longer enough. We ask the Italian government to recall our ambassador to Tel Aviv in firm protest against the incessant war crimes of the Netanyahu government.”

In recent days, the former prime minister had already been harsh: “We consider this Italian government cowardly because it had the possibility of expressing itself in favor of the recognition of the Palestinian state and for the ceasefire at the United Nations General Assembly but it did not do so. The Italian government, the government of the United States are accomplices, up to now they have demonstrated cowardice. Dear Minister Smotrich, dear Prime Minister Netanyahu, dear Israeli government – Conte said – what you are doing is a disgrace, because what you are doing is truly illegitimate, far from international cover and legitimacy for this war. You have been carrying out this carnage for ten months, we have reached 40 thousand Palestinian victims, most of them women and children. You will never do it in our name, in the name of those who fight with a sense of international justice to protect the lives of defenseless Palestinians, of absolutely innocent Palestinians”.
