SYRIZA was missing a debate 2024-09-28 07:26:12

“Debate in an even freer way” than that of the PASOK candidates, suggested, for example, the MP Christos Giannouliswith his statement going viral on social media, with hundreds of accounts mocking the ability of Kasselakis, Polakis, Famellos to discuss in a civilized manner.

“Let’s politicize the debate and talk about the next day of SYRIZA” suggested the secretary of the party Rania Svigouexpressing more wish than hope.

In fact, the rift between PASOK and SYRIZA has stressed Koumoundourou, while officials participating in the channels’ panels are constantly faced with the question of whether they can conduct intra-party dialogue as their colleagues in PADOK do, who they are also heading to the election of a leader.

Yesterday, the Political Secretariat attempted to make decisions on all organizational matters until the election of a leader. From the composition of the Central Organizing Committee of the Conference, to the way delegates are elected, while there was information that there would also be a discussion about the finances of the party.

Before the Political Secretariat, however, the Socrates Famous and the Pavlos Polakis announced that they are officially running for the position of SYRIZA president in the upcoming internal party elections, while Stefanos Kasselakis he has chosen to prolong the… suspense for when he will announce his own candidacy.

Mr. Famellos announced in a video that he released to the public that he will claim the leadership of SYRIZA, while Mr. Polakis is also an official candidate for president of SYRIZA, as he submitted his candidacy to the party’s competent bodies, making the statement available to the party “PPothen esches” and the unique signatures of at least 30 – according to the information – members of the Central Committee.

In his statement a little later outside Koumoundourou, Pavlos Polakis stated that he submitted 32 signatures, (31 members of the K.E. plus one signature of the MEP Nikos Pappa) and his “pothen esshes”, “the last one which has also been submitted to the Parliament of 2023 for use in ’22, as defined by the decision of the K.E.”.

According to information about the Polakis candidacy, former government officials of the SYRIZA government are signing, among others, such as Tryfon Alexiadis, Yiannis Mouzalas and Lefteris Kretsos, Yiannis MazouranisMEP Nikos Pappas and the members of the K.E. Markos Hatzisavvas and George Panagiotopoulos.

“Let’s move forward in a struggle of confrontation of positions and programs, because the country needs a strong official opposition that will project a workable, radical, socially necessary and popularly understood governance program as an alternative to Mitsotakis’s governance, which is closing its circle,” he said among others the MP of Chania.

For his part, the former president of K.O. of SYRIZA, Sokratis Famellos, in a video on social media said, among other things:

“I believe that Greek society needs a SYRIZA-P.S. serious, modern, reliable and dynamic. A European and ecological Left, a force for change. A SYRIZA of the values, ethos and struggles of the progressive faction. With a point of reference the legacy of the government of the Left, of Alexis Tsipras, that kept society and Greece standing. Outside of the Memoranda, with international prestige, with positive growth rates. With a sense of responsibility towards the history of the Left, I am running for president of SYRIZA-P.S. I take responsibility to lead this collective effort and guarantee unity first and foremost, as I have demonstrated by stopping introversion and toxicity.”

COMING BACK SOON… KASSELAKIS IS RETURNING TO THE CAFE

Stefanos Kasselakis is preparing to announce his candidacy for the presidency of SYRIZA, after Sokratis Famello and Pavlos Polakis. In a coffee shop in Tripoli where he met with his friends and colleagues, he also wrote a dedication to the book of the shop.

“Keep History alive. Our tradition and our culture alive, bright, shining. Thanks for the hospitality. I’ll be back soon. Stefanos Kasselakis. 26-9-24”.
