SYRIZA-PS: Punctuality continues to crush households – 2024-07-26 16:36:57

“If things weren’t too serious, if accuracy didn’t continue to tear households apart, the ND troupe would offer plenty of laughs and would be sold out if it staged a farce,” SYRIZA-PS underlines in a statement.

“In the most recent issue, Mr. Makarios Lazaridis, MP for Kavala of New Democracy, and Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ partner for at least a decade, as he himself states, would star, holding a slice of watermelon,” SYRIZA notes and adds:

“We are of course referring to the answer given by Mr. Lazaridis when he was asked on a TV show about the accuracy and the tourists who send their friends photos of the exorbitant food prices in Greece. All he could find to answer was “but in Germany they don’t buy a whole watermelon, they buy a slice”.

“However, in Germany, we add, the average salary is about three times as much (a simple search in Eurostat proves it, see e.g. the data for 2022 here) – 46 thousand euros a year compared to not even 17 in Greece. Germany also exceeds the European average of GDP per capita in purchasing power units, while Greece is in the well-known penultimate position with 67%”, emphasizes SYRIZA-PS and adds: “The figures are infinite, but there in ND don’t care: the fact that Greek men and women live “half lives” is not a failure of Mitsotakis policy. It’s its goal, because that’s how the big venture capitals that support it are served.”

“There is always the possibility that there in the government they are worried about the figure of the Greeks: half a kilo of feta for Mitsotakis, a slice of watermelon for Lazaridis, but also the “unforgettable” Adonis who used to say “what to do with food, to become 300 kilos ?”, concludes the SYRIZA announcement.
