SYRIZA: Polakis raised the issue of leadership in the Political Secretariat – Kasselaki’s response

According to information, during the meeting of the Political Secretariat of SYRIZA, Pavlos Polakis raised the issue of leadership in SYRIZA as he noted that it must change and that he himself will contribute in this direction.

“The current leadership cannot cope with the demands of the times,” said Pavlos Polakis.

According to the same sources, the independent MP – who remains a member of the official opposition party – stressed that “a program and a large progressive alliance is needed”, and then noted that “the current leadership cannot”.

With this move, Pavlos Polakis is indirectly running for the presidency of SYRIZA and now comes into open conflict with Stefanos Kasselakis who replied that he is not going to pick up the gauntlet.

The president of SYRIZA replied to the MP of Chania that he is not going to pick up the gauntlet.

The relations between the two men are at their worst after the dismissal of Pavlos Polakis from the SYRIZA Parliamentary Group due to the incident with his colleague Adoni Georgiadis.

The group of “87” in the SYRIZA party body left the Political Secretariat.

Eight officials participating in the Political Secretariat, namely Olga Gerovasili, Alekos Flambouraris, Katerina Notopoulou, Thanasis Theocharopoulos, Yannis Ragousis, Kostas Zachariadis, Zoe Karkoulia and Eleni Symeonidou opposed the presidential proposal concerning the party media and will leave, according to information from today’s meeting.

“We do not legalize the process,” they said.
