SYRIZA: Intense conversation between Stefanos Kasselakis and the employees of “Avgi”

Employees of “Avgi” and “Kokkino” had a short conversation with Stefanos Kasselakis.

The workers’ quartet with the president of SYRIZA Stefanos Kasselakistook place outside the party offices in Koumoundourou, ahead of the meeting of the political secretariat.

With anguish in their eyes and holding banners demanding a review of the suspension of the publication of the daily newspaper “I Avgi”, the workers asked the president for an “honest and sustainable solution” for the two media outlets.

Stefanos Kasselakis answered them “not here, I will see you upstairs”, confirming that after the meeting, he will contact representatives of the employees.

Its president SYRIZA he left, then returned shortly after, asking reporters covering the issue to do their “job of journalism” since the party’s new 11-minute video of the civil protection plan was released.

At the moment, the political secretariat of SYRIZA is meeting with the main topic of the situation in the media of the party.

What are the workers asking for at “Avgi”

According to newsit, today’s gathering of workers took place in the context of the new 24-hour strike announced by the unions, ESIEA and EPIEA, both in the newspaper “I Avgi” and on the website “avgi.gr”.

In their announcement, the union requests:

• The immediate payment of the employees’ accrued salaries for the month of July 2024, the leave allowance as well as all old debts.
• The commitment of the main shareholder SYRIZA to pay the salary for the month of August.
• The revocation of the decision to suspend the publication of the daily sheet of the newspaper “I AVGI”.
• The start of consultation of the main shareholder SYRIZA with the Boards of Directors of the Unions of the workers in the newspaper and on its website.
• Informing workers and unions about the sustainability plan of the party’s media, which LEFT MEDIA announced that it has submitted
