SYRIZA: 15 executives leave – 4 members of the Central Committee resigned Politics: News, News and Current Affairs – 2024-03-05 02:17:57

Four members of the Central Committee of SYRIZA resignedcomplaining in the statement they issued that at the party conference “all that was sought was toxicity and division”.

In total 15 members of SYRIZA resigned from its institutional propertiess. Among them the Leonidas Dimitriadis, Antonis Eleftheriadis, Thomas Bournaris and Efi Papalexiouwho left the Central Committee.

As the announcement typically states, the cause was the “toxicity and division” brought about by the leadership’s attitude.

“We do not participate in power games. We do not engage in defeatist strategies. We do not participate in personal feuds” they note, among other things.

“We are present in the next day, in the reconstruction of the broad Democratic Party. We will support movements of understanding and joining forces. We are not part of the problem, but we hope to be part of the solution,” they add.

The entire post

“After a procedural pre-conference dialogue that took place with the non-participation of the great majority of our members and especially with the absence of society, the holding of the 4th conference came to confirm in the most resounding and unpleasant way the problem of our party.

The congress of a party is the highest political process of political production. Unfortunately, at this conference all that was sought was toxicity and division.

• We do not engage in power games.
• We do not engage in losing strategies.
• We do not engage in personal feuds.

In conditions of multiple, multi-level crises. In conditions of shifting geopolitical power. In conditions of worsening social inequalities and the advance of neoliberalism, which bring Europe and our country closer and closer to the specter of the far-right threat.

The only solution is the formation of a social and political current that will provide a progressive way out.

In this case we declare “present”!

We are present in the next day, in the reconstruction of the broad Democratic Party. We will support movements of understanding and joining forces. We are not part of the problem, but we hope to be part of the solution.

We owe it to ourselves, to our generation, to our children, to society, to Greece.
With this text we renounce our institutional qualities in SYRIZA Progressive Alliance.
