It appears that the Syrian refugee who was suspected of stabbing 6 people in the town of Annecy in the French Alps region, on Thursday, did not act with a “terrorist motive”, according to what the Public Prosecutor told journalists.

Lynne Bonnet-Mathes said that one of the four children who were wounded in the attack was 22 months old, two were two years old, and the oldest was three years old.

The public prosecutor, who is leading an investigation into a horrific knife attack in a town in the French Alps, said that 4 children between the ages of 22 months and 3 years suffered life-threatening injuries, and that two adults were also injured.

He explained that a Dutch child and another British were among 4 children injured in a knife attack in a park in the French town of Annecy.

He added that the four children, aged three years or younger, were seriously injured in the attack.

He pointed out that the attacker’s motives are still unknown, but it does not appear to be related to terrorism.

The suspect, a 31-year-old Syrian, was arrested following Thursday morning’s attack in the town of Annecy.

French Prime Minister Elisabeth Born said the man had refugee status in Sweden.

Video recording

A video recording, spread on social media, revealed that the Syrian, who is suspected of attacking children with a knife in the French town of Annecy, chanted “in the name of Christ” twice in English while carrying out the attack, which was confirmed by an informed source.

The attacker, who was wearing a cross when he was arrested, identified himself as a “Christian from Syria” when he applied for asylum in France on November 28, 2022.
