On Wednesday, Syria condemned the Israeli aggression and warned that its continuation will reflect on those who carry it out and encourage it.
The Syrian Foreign Ministry issued a statement in which it strongly condemned the “cowardly double Israeli aggression”, which targeted the vicinity of the capital Damascus at dawn today, from the direction of the Lebanese capital Beirut and from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan, and resulted in the death of one soldier and the injury of 5 others, in addition to material losses.
The Syrian foreign ministry added that”the Syrian government warns the rulers of the Israeli entity against the continuation of repeated, blatant and reckless violations and criminal Israeli attacks, and the dangers of this to stability in the region and to international peace and security”.
SANA quoted the Syrian Foreign Ministry as saying that these “cowardly attacks will reflect on those who carry them out and encourage them”, saying that “Syria has the right to use all legitimate means to respond to them and hold all those behind them fully responsible for their serious consequences”.
The Syrian Foreign Ministry pointed out that this aggression “constitutes a double violation of the principles of international law and the principles and purposes of the Charter of the United Nations and its relevant resolutions on Lebanon and Syria, in particular Security Council resolution 350 of 1974 on disengagement”.
“The aggression comes amid international silence and an umbrella of protection provided by the United States of America, which encourages the Israeli occupation entity to continue its repeated aggression against Syria, and to undermine and erode the credibility of the international community and the so-called international legitimacy, which will inevitably lead to a serious crisis in the situation,”she said.
