Syria – An attack by unidentified suicide drones targeted two large bases of American forces in the Syrian provinces of Deir ez-Zor and Homs.
Local sources told Anatolia that the base of the Al-Omar oil field in Deir ez-Zor (east) was attacked on Sunday evening by unidentified suicide drones.
The sources indicated that sirens sounded in the base area, while American warplanes flew overhead following the attack.
Later, American forces targeted, with artillery from their base in the Al-Omar field, the villages of Khasham, Al-Jufra, Al-Hawija, and Al-Mariyah, where Iranian-backed groups are deployed west of the Euphrates River.
On the other hand, the American base in the Al-Tanf area of Homs (central) was subjected to a similar attack by suicide drones.
Anadolu correspondent stated that the air defense systems at the base shot down a number of drones, but some of them hit the base.
It was not possible to obtain information about whether the attack on the two bases resulted in damage or losses.
Recently, there have been repeated attacks by suicide drones of unknown origin and surface-to-surface missiles on the bases where the American army is deployed in the Al-Tanf area, the Al-Malikiyah district near the Iraqi border, and the Al-Shaddadi area in the Al-Hasakah and Deir ez-Zor governorates.
Iranian-backed groups sometimes attack American bases on the eastern bank of the Euphrates River with missiles and regular and armed drones.
