Four people, including two children, were killed in a storm that hit central Syria on Wednesday.
The four people died as a result of the collapse of concrete walls in Morek district and Jibreen neighborhood in Hama countryside, as a result of the storm and strong winds that struck Hama governorate.
The director of the General Authority of the Hama National Hospital, Dr. Salim Khallouf, stated in a statement to the Syrian News Agency, SANA, that the bodies of 4 people, including two children, who died and several others were injured as a result of the collapse of some walls and cement blocks due to the storm, were transported, adding that all necessary aid was provided to the injured. .
And the director of the Central Region Branch for Electricity Transmission, Ahmed Makkawi, stated that the severe wind storm in Hama governorate caused the collapse of 3 electric tension towers on the line feeding the Salhab substation, and cut off electricity to the entire region, indicating that maintenance workshops will begin their work on Thursday to re-install the towers. And the installation of cables and all necessary equipment to restart it.
The storm also caused the fall of the cellular communication tower in the Salhab area, according to the region’s director, Hossam Abbas, to “SANA”, explaining that the cellular communications service was stopped in a number of the area’s neighborhoods that were served by the tower.
