Synology Drive optimized for Apple Silicon Macs

Synology does more than get out of the betas : the NAS manufacturer also regularly offers final versions of its software! Synology Drive for Mac and Windows has thus recently offered itself – through its version 3.2.0-13238 — several important new features.

The first and most significant is that the Mac client is Apple Silicon optimized. No need to go through the real-time translation of instructions by Rosetta 2, which should improve the performance of the software. The function of on-demand sync between the Mac and the NAS is also included, which frees up storage space on the computer (these new features were part of a beta release end of August). Finally, Synology Drive uses native Mac notifications.

Synology also specifies that from this version, installing or updating the software is no longer possible on macOS High Sierra (10.13).
