The Secretary of State for Energy of Benin, Edouard Dahome, invited Friday in Cotonou, the countries of West Africa and their technical and financial partners to a synergy of action in order to revitalize the sector of electrical energy for the development of their space.
Speaking at the start of the 40th Coordination Meeting of Technical and Financial Partners of the West African Electric Power Exchange System (WAPP), Dahome said that no country develops without reliable energy. and at lower cost.
“No country can find the appropriate response on its own to enable it to supply electricity, the demand for which is growing rapidly. I express the ardent wish that the meeting will allow the strengthening of already fruitful and dynamic partnerships that the countries of the West Africa and their technical and financial partners have been able to establish for the development of the electrical energy sub-sector in the West African space”, he underlined.
It should be recalled that this meeting aims to continue periodic consultations between West African member countries abroad with their technical and financial partners in order to take stock of the progress of ongoing projects and to determine the measures to be taken to accelerate their implementation and present new projects for the development of electrical energy in the West African space.
