Synchronized assaults in Montreal: several neighborhoods affected

Stabbing and gun attacks took place Friday night in at least three Montreal neighborhoods and only minutes apart.

Around 10:15 p.m., a man was located in a vehicle in the parking lot of Place Versailles, located in the Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough, with upper body injuries that appear to have been made by stabbing . He was transported to a hospital, where he remains in critical condition. No suspects have been apprehended in this case.

Ten minutes later, police officers from the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) came to the rescue of a man who had been injured by a firearm in the Saint-Léonard sector. The man was in his vehicle at the corner of boulevard Jean-Talon and rue De Candiac. According to the SPVM spokesperson, he tried to get out of his vehicle to avoid the projectiles. He was transported to a hospital and was conscious when transported by ambulance. Again, no suspects were encountered by the police.

A few minutes later, the police were informed of another man injured by several projectiles from a firearm, this time at the corner of Perras and Rodolphe-Forget boulevards, in the Rivière-des-Prairies district. He was also taken back to a hospital center, where he rests between life and death. Also in this case, no suspect was noticed by the police.
