The lighting provider Signify, which is responsible for the fate of the smart lamps from Philips Hue, has presented the new Sync TV app for Samsung Smart TVs together with the TV department of the Korean Samsung group. The paid app download is available from today in the Samsung TV App Store and is available for purchase for 129 euros.
Smart TV app for QLED models
The paid TV application, for its part, takes care of the light synchronization of TV content and Philips Hue lamps. According to Signify, the application can be used with native television applications such as Netflix and Disney+, but also works with external consoles and regular television images.
In addition, the download supports all image formats that can be played back by compatible televisions and can also be used in connection with videos in 8K resolution and HDR 10+ content.
Users should be able to adjust the intensity of the light synchronization to their own taste, can control the brightness of the lighting and choose between a gamer mode and a video mode.
In addition, the Smart TV app can connect to the mobile Philips Hue app and use it to fine-tune the lighting mood around the television.
Limited Compatibility
The Smart TV app, which costs 129 euros, can be installed on all of them Samsung QLED TVs from the Q60 model series. This corresponds to the year of construction 2022.
If you take a look at the current offers for the compatible televisions, you quickly start thinking regarding the bold price for the Smart TV app. The Samsung QLED 4K Q60B is currently available for 517 euros.
Samsung and Signify estimate a whopping 25 percent of the TV price for the app installation, which can only be used by those who have already invested in hardware from Samsung and Signify.
