Al-Marsad newspaper: The National Health Service has revealed that high blood pressure increases your risk of serious problems such as heart attacks and strokes.
The American Heart Association (AHA) explained that a variety of symptoms may be “indirectly related” but are not always caused by high blood pressure.
These include blood spots in the eyes, which are “more common in people with diabetes or high blood pressure”, but neither condition causes spots to appear.
She noted: “Eye floaters have nothing to do with high blood pressure. However, an ophthalmologist may be able to detect optic nerve damage caused by untreated high blood pressure,” according to the Express.
The American Heart Association has shown that flushing occurs when blood vessels in the face dilate, or when your blood pressure is higher than normal, high blood pressure is not the cause of the flushing.
The organization also notes that although dizziness can be a side effect of some blood pressure medications, it is not caused by high blood pressure, and high blood pressure has also been shown to be a major risk factor for stroke.
