As indicated to Nuevo Diario, the lack of favorable responses from the authorities of the higher education institution would seriously jeopardize the continuity of the teaching of classes and the normal performance of activities in said career.
This is how the fifth-year student held it to this medium Bárbara Marinaro, who expressed with anguish: “the situation of the race and the refusal we received from the UNSa encourages us to manifest ourselves in a supportive and totally peaceful embrace”, he said and detailed that students from first to seventh year will participate in the activity . “We want to give our full support to the administrative staff and teachers who will not show up for work tomorrow (for today).”
In this sense, he explained that although the measure affects the student body directly, since today they formally begin the course of the second semester, it is supported: “we are going to support them to see if we obtain a favorable response from the university regarding their work, since there are three administrators who are receiving a salary of $30,000, a figure below the poverty line, and with total dedication, without vacations or even a social project,” warned Bárbara.
“These irregularities have existed since the beginning of the course in 2015, and they are administrative professionals who were trained by the National University of Tucumán to take care of all the issues that concern students and teachers at the UNSa headquarters, for that very reason. we want them to enter the permanent plant and get paid like the rest of the administrative support staff of the Faculty of Health Sciences,” said the Medicine student, who added that the claim extends to the teaching staff: “they are working an irregular way, because they are not like the rest of the university teachers, and calls for job competitions should be opened for teachers”.
Lastly, and regarding the recent session of the Superior University Council, where the creation of the medical school was rejected, Marinaro said: “we are unarmed, they cut off our legs because we feel that we do not know what is going to happen or where we are unemployed, and it is one more reason to embrace our career. We study in Salta because it does not give us the pocket to do it in other provinces, and that our career is at risk is something that destroys us”.
The teachers’ statement
The faculty of the Medicine career taught at UNSA released an official statement in which they declare themselves in a state of alert and mobilization from the beginning of the second semester, following the academic recess: “as a result of different situations that jeopardize the continuity of the academic dictation, both of the Agreement with the National University of Tucumán, and with the UNSa’s own career”, he maintains and explains that the decision responds to the refusal of calls for competitions, the creation of positions necessary teachers and administrators, and irregularities in the budgetary management assigned to the career.
