The Recreation and Culture Department of the City of La Malbaie has unveiled the program of shows and activities for its 2023 summer season.
Like last year, citizens will be able to take part in more than 150 events throughout the summer. The period from June to September will be especially marked by the presence of big names from the Quebec music scene.
The beginning of the summer will be very animated with the show of Kevin Parent for the evening of Saint-Jean with Tommy Boivin who will come to open the ball at the beginning of the evening.
Jeanick Fournier will be in the region (July 28) for the first time since her triumph on Canada’s got talent last May when she won the final of the famous competition.
For the 1is July, Élizabeth Blouin Brathwaite and her All Star Band will set fire to Parc du Havre. This evening will end in the sky with the traditional Canada Day fireworks display.
Sylvain Cossette will be present on September 16 for the closing weekend of the season. He will be able to make up for lost time, he who had to cancel his visit to La Malbaie at the last minute last year.
An electro evening (August 8) will also take place with DJs Domeno, Millimetrik, Shieldie and Khaos.
Several other shows will be presented on several different styles, from rap with Koriass (September 15) to country with Matt Lang (August 24) and Phil G. Smith.
The free musical evenings will begin with performances by artists mainly from the region: Léa Jarry, Tommy Boivin, Jean-Philippe Bergeron, That’s all folk, MGM Band, Luc pis sa gang and Slim Tony.
The rest of the summer will be interspersed with various activities such as the arrival of the United Group of Educators-Naturalists and Environmental Professionals (GUEPE) who will come to organize activities on nature and marine mammals or even several observation sessions of stars framed by the Club d’astronomie de Charlevoix.
