Sydney, Beaches closed due to shark attack | Sydney Beaches Close After First Fatal Shark Attack In 60 Years

Sydney: A visit to a beach in Sydney has been banned following the death of a swimmer following a shark attack. Several beaches, including Sydney’s iconic Bondi and Bronze, were closed on Thursday. Authorities have advised people not to go to the beach until the situation calms down and to postpone activities, including swimming competitions.

The shark attacked a man who was swimming on Little Bay Beach, 20 kilometers south of Australia. Police have not released further details on who was killed in the attack.

Authorities have set up drum lines near the scene of the attack to catch sharks. Authorities said drone surveillance was continuing to confirm the presence of the shark in the area.

Dylan Parker, mayor of Randwick Council, which includes Little Bay, told reporters that the coast was like their backyard and that the shark attack there had shocked the entire area.

For the first time in 60 years, a man has been killed in a shark attack and the city’s major beaches have been closed.
