In Group A there is only one team undefeated – and that is the Swiss. If they remain so in the last group game, they will reach the round of 16. If the women’s national team finishes the group stage in first place, the first round of the knockout phase will take place in Auckland, with the Swiss going to Wellington in second place. Both round of 16 will take place on August 5th. In order for the women’s national team to win the group, they need a win on Sunday. Or a draw and at the same time not bankruptcy Norway against the Philippines.

Inka Grings doesn’t want to get involved in all the arithmetic games. The trainer says: “I didn’t use the calculator for a second.” The goal is clear to them. “I am convinced that we will qualify on our own strength.” The New Zealanders praise the German. “They are aggressive and dynamic. But we have a lot of self-confidence and know what is important.” Captain Lia Wälti agrees with her trainer: “We want to make it clear ourselves and stay at the top of the table.” She does not feel any tension before making a decision. “It’s a highlight for all players.”
