Switzerland’s High Visa Rejection Rate for Indian Nationals: Insights and Analysis

BERLIN: Switzerland rejected 13.2 per cent of the visa applications submitted by Indian nationals, data from Schengen show, out of a total of 13,984 applications.

Indians rank 30th in the rejection list. Citizens of Pakistan, Ghana and Congo are among the nationalities whose visa applications are rejected the most. The rejection rate for Pakistani nationals was the highest at 55.1 percent, with more than half of the applications rejected. Ghanaian and Congolese applications were rejected at 46.5 and 41.5 percent respectively. Whereas Algeria and Argentina are 39.9 and 35 percent respectively. Apart from this, visa applications submitted by Sri Lankan citizens from Nepal, Kyrgyzstan, Cuba and Senegal have also been rejected.
