Switzerland wins the song contest – Kaleen only comes in second to last place

The non-binary person Nemo won the title with the bombast number “The Code” in the evening at the Malmö Arena. The triumph in Sweden represents Switzerland’s third victory in the competition. Austria’s candidate Kaleen, however, ended up in the disappointing, penultimate place in the evening with just 24 points.

With the victory, Switzerland relegated the Croatian Baby Lasagna, who was recently more favored, to second place. While Switzerland received 591 points, Croatia received 547. Ukraine followed at a distance in third place with 453 points. The German interpreter Isaak ended up in twelfth place.

The ESC, the world’s largest music competition, is broadcast in dozens of countries worldwide – from Australia to the Northern Cape. Every year around 150 million people watch the final round of the show alone. This year’s competition was overshadowed by discussions regarding Israel’s participation in the Gaza war and by the exclusion of the Netherlands because of an incident with the singer.
