The FOPH has just added a new function to the “Covid Cert” application. It allows you to know if your certificate is still valid abroad.

The Covid certificate app contains a new feature on the 4th screen.

Even if the pandemic seems behind us, do not delete the Confederation’s “Covid Cert” app too quickly. Apart from the fact that it is still very useful for travel to many countries which have not yet lifted all restrictions in the fight against the coronavirus, it has just been updated by the Federal Office of Public Health. Indeed, the FOPH has added a new functionality. It allows travelers who go abroad to find out about the validity of their certificate, for the moment in 24 countries.

In the detailed overview of the COVID certificate, it is indeed now possible to check under the new field “Validity for travel” whether his document is valid at the time of entry into the country of destination. To do this, simply select the country of destination and insert the date of arrival. The app then indicates whether the COVID certificate will be valid on that date.

For now, the list mainly includes European countries, but there are also Togo and… Ukraine! The FOPH further points out that entry arrangements may change. It is therefore better to check the validity of your certificate before your departure and also find out online about the conditions of entry into force in your country of destination. Otherwise, only the entry provisions of the country of destination are indicated. Within the country, other rules may apply to any areas subject to the obligation to present a certificate, Berne concludes.

Note yet another very practical app for preparing your trip and knowing the conditions in European countries. This is the app “Re-open EU“. It provides the latest updates on restrictions in the States, the procedures to be followed on site, the validity of certificates, etc.
