Switzerland lacks consistency in returning potentate funds

Over the next few years, Switzerland will return 1 billion dollars to various countries harmed by the embezzlement of funds committed by governments or their relatives. For example, Switzerland is currently negotiating with Uzbekistan to return to the Central Asian country 130 million dollars confiscated from the ex-husband of the daughter of the former Uzbek president. There remains in this case, according to the figures transmitted to the Federal Control of Finance, which looked into these refunds in an audit published on Wednesday, 670 million dollars blocked in Switzerland which are still the subject of legal proceedings.
