A high pressure area over Spain and Portugal will give us temperatures of up to 30 degrees for the next seven days. On the following weekend, the thermometer in Switzerland is even expected to rise above 30 degrees in some cases. According to Geraldine Zollinger from Meteonews Switzerland, a cold front awaits us on Monday night, which is why there will be downpours on Monday morning, especially in the direction of the Alps.
But the sun will return in the followingnoon. «Tuesday will bring dry and sunny weather. It will remain summery and warm on Wednesday,” says Zollinger. On Wednesday, however, the risk of showers and thunderstorms will increase.
We can also look forward to nice weather on Thursday. Only in the second half of the day might there be local rain and thunderstorms. “On Friday and Saturday it will be midsummer warm. The temperatures then rise to over 30 degrees in some cases,” says Zollinger.
According to the meteorologist, however, it cools down at night. “I therefore advise airing it out well in the morning.” It is also important to drink enough during the day and to apply lotion well. “In the midday sun you have to be careful not to burn yourself. We currently have the highest UV index,” says Zollinger.
