For a few hours, namely Thursday, March 10, ChocoboGP has been available exclusively on the Nintendo Switch console. A title that arrived well at the editorial staff and that we are actively testing. SQUARE ENIX announced today: Chocobo GP, a frenetic kart racing game set in the Chocobo universe, is now available on the Nintendo Switch console. Players can now rush through circuits as magical as they are exhilarating in the company of their favorite characters, all from the Chocobo and FINAL FANTASY games, such as Vivi and Steiner from FINAL FANTASY IX. The demo version of the game, Chocobo GP Lite*, can also be downloaded and allows players to tackle courses inspired by the famous settings of Chocobo and FINAL FANTASY titles… To be discovered both in local multiplayer mode and in numerous online multiplayer modes.
Starting today, players can discover all that Chocobo GP has to offer, and in particular:
- Multiple Game Modes – Compete in a variety of modes such as “Story” mode and “Chocobo GP” mode, including knockout tournaments for up to 64 drivers.
- Supercharged Tracks – Race through a host of Chocobo and FINAL FANTASY-inspired tracks, including Cid’s Test Track, Streets of Alexandria and Zozo, and the Golden Saucer.
- A full cast of 100% FINAL FANTASY and Chocobo characters – Players can play as a wide range of characters from the FINAL FANTASY and Chocobo universes: find well-known faces from FINAL FANTASY VI, FINAL FANTASY IX and much more.
The first Season is in full swing in the Chocobo GP mode. By participating in this mode everyone can improve their season level and win many rewards. Additionally, pilots can spend 800 mythril to purchase an optional Rewards Pass (which grants access to an additional catalog of seasonal rewards), or spend 2400 mythril to acquire an optional Premium Rewards Pass (which instantly grants the equivalent of 60 levels season rewards).
Players will be able to obtain a sign-up bonus of 800 mythril (the equivalent of a Rewards Pass), which will allow them to unlock the character Cloud from FINAL FANTASY VII (available as a bonus of a Tier Rewards Pass). 60), but they can also exchange Gil for the Squall character from FINAL FANTASY VIII by going to the Gil Shop.
