Swiss travelers will also be affected by the strike in Germany on Monday. Airports and SBB advise once morest traveling to the northern neighboring country that day.
As the strike has been announced for some time, airlines have had time to take action, a Kloten Airport spokeswoman told Keystone-ATS on Sunday. Most flights to Germany have been moved and passengers transferred.
The airline Swiss is already canceling all flights between Switzerland and Munich on Sunday. On Monday, all connections to Munich and Frankfurt will be canceled.
Flights to Berlin, on the other hand, are not affected by the stoppage and will take place as planned, said a spokesperson for Swiss.
On the rail
The SBB also recommends not to travel to Germany on the day of the strike: both ICE connections and night trains and regional trains from and to Germany will be crossed out. Some deletions will take place on Sunday and others are still scheduled for Tuesday. SBB replaces many cross-border trains, but only in Switzerland.
The all-day strike will normally begin at midnight Sunday night through Monday, ending 24 hours later. In addition to air and rail traffic, waterways, ports and the highway company will also be affected.
