Swiss striker Timo Meier has signed a new contract with the New Jersey Devils. He signed up for eight years for the sum of 70.6 million dollars (8.8 million per season).
After long negotiations, Meier, who had preferred to give up playing the last World Championship to take no risk, signed one of the best contracts for a Swiss player in the NHL. He is positioned just behind the emblematic captain of the Nashville Predators, Roman Josi and his contract at 72 million over eight years as well.
