Like their European neighbours, Swiss start-ups are not immune to the scarcity of funding. Figures revealed last week showed that in Europe, fundraising for start-ups had been halved in the first half, from 44.7 billion euros in 2022 to 23.2 billion in 2023. Same observation in Switzerland this week. Last year, Swiss start-ups raised 2.6 billion francs in the first six months. This year, they have only been financed to the tune of 1.2 billion according to the figures of the “Swiss Venture Capital Report”, published this Thursday by the specialized site Startupticker.ch and the association of investors SECA, in collaboration with Startup.ch.
