“I’ll find you, you dog.” This is probably what the victim wrote to the thief who stole his Apple Watch. The message came from a Swiss number.

In Essen, Germany, someone recently stole an Apple Watch from a Tesla.
The owner of the watch then sent angry messages to his stolen watch.
The police have now caught the thief, but are still looking for the owner.
Technically, a lot is possible in 2023: For example, you can send a message to your stolen Apple Watch send it in the hope that the thief will think better of it. Or to scare him a bit – as in the present case, which took place in Essen, Germany, at the end of July: There, a resident of a refugee camp with said Apple Watch approached an employee of the facility with a request for the watch yet to load for him. When the lady complied with the request, a message came from a Swiss number on the watch.
«I will find you, you dog. My Tesla has a sentry mode,” read the display. It quickly became clear that the resident of the facility had stolen the watch, probably from a Tesla. The employee called the police and the thief was reported. But now the big question is who the owner of the watch actually is. At the request of 20 minutes, the Essen police said they had tried several times to reach the owner by phone – on the number from which the threatening message came. But so far without success.
Where is the owner of the watch?
So far, the police have not known the crime scene, the exact time of the crime or what happened. When asked if more information might be gleaned from the thief, the police did not provide any information. The search for the robbed continues.
The owner of the watch should report to the Essen police: 0049 201 829 7230.
Tesla’s Sentry Mode makes it possible to monitor suspicious activity around the parked and locked vehicle. Upon detection of threatening movement, the cameras are activated and the alarm system is switched on. The vehicle owner is notified of the incident via the Tesla app.
The mode is extremely controversial. Consumer advocates accuse Tesla of not being able to distinguish between suspicious and unsuspicious approaches. Thus, people would also be recorded if there was no reason for it. From a data protection point of view, this is problematic.
