Swiss-Naphta-B: Entrepreneur illegally sold medicines made from petroleum
For years, a Swiss man circulated home-brewed preparations made from petroleum. He praised them, among other things, as cancer-healing. Now he was fined.

The drug authority Swissmedic has imposed a fine of 16,000 francs on an entrepreneur and multimillionaire. Noisy “Sunday newspaper» he used petroleum to produce «medicines» in his kitchen, which he then gave away and sold as «cancer cures». The newspaper has received the penalty notice.
The 82-year-old is said to own several properties in Goldach SG. He also founded a medical technology company years ago, which he recently sold. He is also the owner of a local private clinic. According to Swissmedic, however, he did not have a permit to manufacture and sell medicinal products.
Homebrewed drugs touted as curing cancer

The ingredients of the drug are said to be specially treated petroleum. Laboratory analyzes of a sample are said to have produced a similar result. According to a publication by the University Hospital Freiburg, “evidence of the anti-cancer effectiveness of this preparation is lacking”. According to the criminal report, a potential health hazard for consumers can be assumed.
