Swiss investigation opened into UBS’ takeover of Credit Suisse

Swiss prosecutors have opened an investigation UBS acquisition on Credit Suisse, according to the Financial Times.

Federal prosecutors are looking into possible breaches of Swiss criminal law by government officials, regulators and bank executives, CNBC reported.

And UBS executed a purchase of its competitor Swiss credit compared to $ 2.3 billion last month, due to the turmoil that followed the Swiss bank in the recent period, which caused a crisis of confidence not only in Switzerland, but also throughout the continent.

The authorities in Switzerland told the newspaper: The Federal Prosecutor’s Office wants to proactively fulfill its mission and responsibility to contribute to an honest Swiss financial center and to have the supervisory role in order to take immediate action in any situation that falls within the scope of its activity.

The authority stressed that there are many aspects of the events surrounding Credit Suisse that require investigation to discover any crimes.
