Swiss Ice Hockey Games: Switzerland ends its tournament with a third loss – rts.ch

Switzerland ended the Swiss Ice Hockey Games tournament in Friborg with a third defeat. Patrick Fischer’s men lost 4-1 to Finland.

Third match and 3rd setback for the national team. A difficult middle third, lost 3-0, ruined Swiss hopes. But the troupe of Patrick Fischer can plead a certain bad luck. After only 16 seconds in the second third, it was Markus Granlund who was able to equalize by taking advantage of Gauthier Descloux’s hazardous mitt.

Then in the 27th minute, the Finns scored 2-1 but this goal seemed marred by an offside which was not disputed or which might not be seen on video. The video was not conciliatory with Switzerland in the 34th when Fora thought he had equalized, since the referees canceled this success, certainly for a player in the doorman’s area.

Badly negotiated key moment

Switzerland, on the other hand, missed a key moment between the end of the 2nd and the start of the 3rd period. By conceding two goals. The 4-1, attributed to Granlund, is in fact an involuntary deviation from Kukan between the legs of his goalkeeper.

Too bad for Switzerland, because the opener had fallen in the 16th very nicely. Launched by Praplan, Lukas Frick found himself in an excellent position with Killian Mottet. The LHC defender chose to go it alone to finally score. Patrick Fischer will reunite with his men in February for the third act of the Euro Hockey Tour, this time straddling Zurich and Malmö.
