The Swiss artistic gymnasts have qualified for the team final at the World Championships in Antwerp and for the 2024 Olympics.

Noe Seifert, Florian Langenegger, Christian Baumann, Taha Serhani and Luca Giubellini earned 248.192 points in the qualification. Thanks to 7th place, the Swiss team secured a place in the team final on Tuesday and, as one of the 12 top teams, also secured a ticket for the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024. It will be the men’s team’s third Olympic participation in a row be.
Better than China
Thanks to solid performance on all devices, the Swiss even ranked ahead of China. They scored 29 thousandths of a point on the artistic gymnastics great power. Compared to the European Championships in April in Antalya, they were able to improve by over 1.8 points. The Japanese were the clear qualifying winners (258.228) ahead of the USA and Great Britain.
All-around final with two Swiss athletes
Seifert and Langenegger also qualified for the all-around final of the Top 24. Seifert came in a strong 12th place with 82.464 points, Langenegger totaled 81.864 points (20th). Baumann, Serhani and Giubellini did not compete on all apparatus.
However, it wasn’t enough for any Swiss gymnast to make it into one of the apparatus finals (Top 8) next weekend. Langenegger’s 16th place on the floor was the highest of emotions.
