Members of the Swiss government will share their holidays between Switzerland and abroad this summer. However, the rest will not be total, since official meetings and the follow-up of files are also on the program.

The head of the Federal Department of Defence, Sports and Civil Protection (DDPS) Viola Amherd will enjoy nature this summer in Switzerland, whether hiking or cycling. However, official meetings in Switzerland and abroad are also on the program, his services told Keystone-ATS.

The President of the Confederation Alain Berset, who announced his departure from the Federal Council at the end of the year, will enjoy his family holidays abroad. His socialist colleague Elisabeth Baume-Schneider will spend part of the weeks without a Federal Council meeting in Switzerland and part in neighboring countries.

The head of the Federal Department of Justice and Police (DFJP), who went once more last Wednesday and Thursday to Poland and Slovakia for a working visit, “will of course deal with the current files”, specify her services. She will also take part on 20 and 21 July in the informal meeting of justice and home affairs ministers in Logrono, Spain.

Few vacations for Rösti

The summer will be studious for SVP Federal Councilor Albert Rösti, who met once more last Thursday the Vice-President of the Italian Council of Ministers Matteo Salvini during a working visit to Rome. Ignazio Cassis will enjoy his holidays in his home canton, Ticino. Before that, however, the Minister of Foreign Affairs flew in early July for an official trip to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Pakistan. Another business trip, yet to be announced, is on the PLR ​​Federal Councilor’s agenda in early August.

His party colleague Karin Keller-Sutter will spend her free time in Switzerland and abroad. The St-Galloise says she is delighted to be able to spend time with her family and friends.
