This Sunday, the Argentine delegation added two gold medals in swimming and one in cycling, following a new day of competition at the Santiago de Chile 2023 Parapan American Games.
In swimming, Santiago Senestro from Buenos Aires became champion in the final of the men’s 200 meters individual medley (SM10 class), with a record of 2m. 22s. 25/100.
The representative of River Plate in the adapted swimming led by 1s. 40/100 to the silver medalist, Brazilian Ruan Lima. Meanwhile, the Brazilian Phelipe Melo also achieved the last step of the podium, arriving at 1s. 59/100.
Senestro had achieved a bronze medal in the 100 meter breaststroke on Saturday followingnoon.
The other Parapan American swimming title came from Iñaki Basiloff from Neuquén.
The athlete from the Núñez entity also won the final of the 400 meter freestyle (S7), with a time of 4m. 40s. 89/100, which became a continental record in this type of competition.

The second position belonged to the American Adin Williams, who reached 22s. 59/100, while Rosario’s Facundo Arregui won the bronze medal, finishing 23s. 52/100.
The cycling celebration
For its part, the pair composed of Maximiliano Gómez from Entre Ríos and Sebastián Tolosa from Buenos Aires won the gold medal in the Time Trial modality (division B).
Gómez, born in Gualeguay, and Tolosa, originally from Saladillo, achieved a record of 28m. 27s. 53/100, which led them by 18s. 83/100 to the Colombian couple made up of Nelson Serna-Marvin Angarita Reyes.
