Still licensed at Olympic Nice Natation, Bonnet has been training with Philippe Lucas in Martigues since 2021.

But as the major Olympic deadline of Paris-2024 approaches, Charlotte has made the choice of heart and well-being to perform better: “Being happy and fulfilled in my life as an athlete and as a woman is what matters most to me. Joining my husband in Geneva has therefore become obvious and I am convinced that I am making the right decision. Starting tomorrow, I am joining the group Geneva training camp under the leadership of Clément Bailly”specified the Niçoise on her Instagram account.

Charlotte Bonnet was crowned European champion in the 100m short course medley in Bucharest in December 2023. She did not fail to salute the work of Philippe Lucas before going to swim under other skies: “I would like to thank Philippe Lucas for everything he has given me. At the end of the Tokyo 2021 Games, he reached out to me and going to train with him in Martigues was the best decision I made. I took at this point in my career.”

The ONN swimmer previously indicated that 2024 will be her last year competing.
