‘Swift receives Rs 61 lakh; Cost ?; Diesel, salary alone Rs 73 lakh ‘; Balram with account | VT Balram | Malayalam News | KSRTC Swift

Palakkad: Congress leader VT Balram has raised questions regarding the ten-day revenue of KSRTC Swift buses. He asked in a Facebook post why Swift’s 10-day revenue of Rs 61 lakh was not included in the cost. Officials had yesterday shared the ten-day revenue figures of the KSRTC Swift bus.

Balram asked how many liters of diesel were needed during the 1,26,818 km of service and how this revenue would be profitable when the workers’ salaries were taken into account. ‘Swift buses would have cost 33 + 40 = 73 lakhs in 10 days, regardless of the wear and tear, tax, insurance, diesel and salary. Considering the sighting costs, it would go up to over Rs one crore. Debt on the item purchased and its interest cost are not considered here. That means 10 days of operating loss alone would be around Rs 12 lakh and the actual loss would be around Rs 50 lakh, ”Balram added.
