A man told the incredible story that he and his parents experienced when their new neighbor treated their land as if it belonged to him.
The citizen told the Reddit platform that his parents had lived in their house without problems for 50 years, but that everything changed when Richard became their new neighbor.
He continued his account by explaining that one day, while returning home, he found Richard cutting his parents’ bushes.
With his father, the man immediately explained to his neighbor that the shrubs were a foot from the limit of his land.
“My dad and I confronted him and let him know it was our bushes he was cutting and we weren’t happy,” he wrote.
But Richard didn’t seem to find their plea well-founded, and told them back that he “needed” to cut the bushes to get his cars into his backyard.
“You have a curb on the other side of your house, you can have direct access to your garden, as the builder originally intended,” the Reddit user’s father replied.
But the next day, the bushes were gone.
Richard then began driving his cars through their property in order to park his cars in his back yard.
Tired of their neighbour’s behavior, the owners installed a metal fence to properly mark the property line and prevent Richard from rolling on their lawn.
«[Mon] father and I decided we needed metal fence posts to mark the property line. We placed them 5 inches from our side of the property line. We drove them very deep. There was very little room for him to fit anything, especially his cars,” the man explained.
When Richard returned home and saw the recent work, the couple could hear him swearing and screaming.
“We then heard a car start in the back and he managed to get one of his cars out, not without causing serious damage to the side of the vehicle, with beautiful scratches all along the car”, recounted the ‘man.
The maneuver had not only damaged Richard’s car, however, but also tilted the newly installed fence.
They called the police. Richard was then fined for damaging their property.
