Sweden won the title of European show jumping champion this followingnoon in Milan, sharing the podium with the solid Ireland and the surprising Austria, respectively in silver and bronze. France only finished eighth, but they still have two real chances for the individual final with Olivier Perreau and Julien Épaillard, four and seventh associated with Dorai d’Aiguilly*GL events and Dubaï du Cèdre.
16h10 : At the end of the grand team final of the European Championships in Milan, Sweden are European champions, two years following their Olympic title in Tokyo and their world title in Herning! What raid for Swedish show jumping, which is undoubtedly living through the best period of its long history!! Ireland is silver medalist and Austria creates THE big surprise of this championship by finishing bronze medalist, in addition to winning its Olympic qualification! Germany finished just off the podium. Spain and Switzerland, who had both come to seek their qualification, also won their bet. Switzerland unfortunately finished sixth despite being one of the favourites, while France finished eighth, between the Netherlands and Great Britain.

14:32: it’s elimination for Emanuele Gaudiano and Crack Balou, and the worst start for Italy, which is competing at home for its Olympic qualification. The Italian rider rode a course frankly lacking in serenity and approached his triple very badly, before his generous stallion refused the exit then the entry on the second pass. The next three riders will have no room for error…

Olivier Perreau and Dorai d’Aiguilly*GL Events still dazzling!!!
14h14 : waited a long time on the track because his mare had unshod the paddock, Olivier Perreau has just signed a MAGNIFICENT clear round!!! Like the two previous days, the Frenchman flew over the course with Dorai d’Aiguilly*GL Events and did not get any reprieve. Alas, the couple inherited an outdated point of time. Eighth individually last night, he should still remain in the top 10 at the end of this event.
14h03 : playing the championship in individual while Germany is leading the team competition, Christian Kukuk conceded a small fault in the triple with Mumbai.
13:59: the Belgians are trying to rectify the situation following their rout yesterday. After Olivier Philippaerts and H&M Miro’s four-point run, Wilm Vermeir and Iq van het Steentje suffered seven penalty points but still achieved an honorable run.
1:54 p.m. : while she had started a good run with L’Artiste de Toxandra, Ioli Mytilineou had a little more trouble in the second half of the run. The Greek conceded a big fault on the vertical surmounted by a panel in number 8 and on the following oxer.

13:25: only five minutes left before the start of the big team final of the European Championships in Milan! The course seems in the same odds as yesterday (find the route plan here), even if the oxer 7 is quite impressive. There will be no river, which we will normally see once more in the individual final on Sunday. The triple, opened by two big oxers, might also cause faults.
