Swat: ‘Now citizens can get e-domicile at home’

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa District of Swat E-Domicile was launched for the convenience of the public ‘for the first time’ after which citizens can now apply for domicile from their mobiles or laptops sitting at home.

Swat Deputy Commissioner Dr. Qasim Ali Khan told Independent Urdu that ‘the launch of e-domicile is an effort of the government of the time, especially the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and the chief secretary.’

He said: ‘We live in a digital age so a better example is moving to e-domicile. It is an effort to provide convenience to the public at their doorstep.’

Regarding the procedure for obtaining e-domicile, he said that ‘this app is available on the App Store and can also be applied by logging on to the website through your laptop.’

According to the Deputy Commissioner Swat, people are now getting convenience by reducing the procedure and verification of the old system. ‘I am very happy that people here have taken advantage of this facility.’

He further said that more than 150 people have made e-domicile so far. The message to the public is to take advantage of this facility.

Sohail Ahmed belongs to Swat and he has also made e-domicile using this facility.

He said: ‘I had a domicile problem so I came to the DC office, here someone told me that an e-domicile was being created, after which I was given a laptop and I applied and my e-domicile was created.’
