SV Ried: The club and managing director Rainer Wöllinger part ways

On November 12, 2020, Rainer Wöllinger was presented as managing director of SV Guntamatic Ried. A lot has happened to the Rieder footballers during this time. They were promoted again during the corona pandemic, and were then bitterly relegated from the Bundesliga in the summer of 2023. Before today’s home game between Rieder and Liefering (6:10 p.m., Innviertel Arena), it became clear that the club and Wöllinger will part ways at the end of the season at the latest. According to OÖN information, the executive board of SV Ried is meeting for a meeting this afternoon before the game against Liefering. According to insiders, the upcoming separation between the 50-year-old and the traditional Innviertel club is likely to be amicable. A decision will also be made in the coming days as to whether and in what form the position will be filled. According to OÖN information, the club’s employees have probably already been informed about Wöllinger’s impending departure.

Compensation is required against Liefering

In terms of sport, the Rieder footballers want to get back on the road to success against Liefering after three defeats from the first four spring games. “We want to fight for the three points in front of the fans,” says defense chief Nikki Havenaar. “We have a lot to make up for with our fans from the first games in the spring. It’s an opportunity to get back on a positive path,” says head coach Maximilian Senft. The first duel of the season between the two teams ended in a 1-1 draw in Salzburg.
