SV Ried brings in a defender without a club

SV Ried has once again struck on the transfer market and secured the services of a clubless kicker: 19-year-old Thomas Jungbauer, who, as reported, has already been a guest in the Innviertel as a test player in the past few weeks, is new to the Vikings.

“Despite his young age, Thomas has already taken part in a U20 World Cup and the Olympics in Paris and has already gained experience abroad in Italy and the Czech Republic. We still needed to work on his position because we currently didn’t have a left-footed central defender in the Young Vikings either. Thomas is a young Upper Austrian and therefore fit our profile very well,” said Wolfgang Fiala, Managing Director of Sports.

Most recently, the team player from the Dominican Republic, who played in Upper Austria in the youth ranks of Haidershofen, LASK and the Linz Football Academy, was under contract with the Czech club Dynamo Budweis.
