The results of a study recently launched by the booking.com website showed that 90% of travelers in the UAE are looking for more sustainable travel over the next 12 months.

The results of the study, which included data collected from more than 33,000 travelers in 35 countries and regions, showed that traveling in a more sustainable manner is still a priority for travelers from the Emirates, as 77% of them indicated that people need to move now and make decisions that support sustainability to preserve on the planet for future generations.

The study indicated that as an increasing number of travelers have economic concerns, they are looking for more rewarding and sustainable travel options, highlighting the prevailing trade-off between making conscious choices, saving money and the need for motivation.

According to the study, 50% of travelers prefer to receive discounts and economic incentives in order to choose environmentally friendly options, while 40% indicate that they would be encouraged to travel more sustainably if they received rewards in the form of points when making decisions that support sustainability, which they can use to obtain Additional free benefits or discounts through online travel booking sites.

According to the results of the study, regarding 46% of travelers in the UAE believe that there are not enough options for sustainable travel, while 79% of them indicate that they want travel companies to provide more sustainable travel options. Despite their best intentions, 42% of travelers don’t know where to find more sustainable travel options.
