Asuncion, IP Agency.- The Paraguayan Roundtable on Sustainable Meat (MPCS) invites you to take part in the “Sustainable Livestock Farming” course, which will begin on August 24 and will last for four months, with the aim of deepening knowledge and application of sustainable methods throughout the meat production chain.
Paraguayan farmers are faced with the dilemma of producing more meat, with greater productivity and in harmony with the environment, or resigning themselves to seeing the profitability of the sector stagnate, according to an analysis by the MPCS, which warns that the rate of cattle breeding in Paraguay is well below the levels of neighbouring countries.
Hugo Sánchez, executive director of the Paraguay Roundtable for Sustainable Meat, indicated that the “Sustainable Livestock Course” aims to be a space where all aspects of sustainable production are reviewed, from the field, pasture, water, reaching the refrigerator and the financial and commercial aspects of the market.
He said that sustainable production extends to all links in the value chain and that the goal is for this sustainable production to be recognised.
To this end, they aim to provide course participants with a comprehensive view of sustainable production and apply this to their work.
“It’s four months, eight modules until November, culminating with a visit to a meat processing plant. We have 50 places available,” he explained.
The MPCS analysis indicates that micro, small and medium-sized farms, which make up the vast majority of the livestock sector, are quite far from access to knowledge and technology applied to production.
Given this situation, training becomes an indispensable tool to promote the transformation towards a more productive, efficient and sustainable livestock industry, they say.
More information about the course is available at the link https://bit.ly/3LkeAPTand for registration, interested parties can contact the telephone numbers 0981 119 084 or 0982 501 027.
More than a series of classes, this course in academic alliance with BURSAL is an opportunity for producers and professionals linked to production to acquire the tools they need to increase the productivity of their livestock, improve the management of natural resources and implement innovative practices that allow them to access new markets, among other benefits.
The comprehensive vision of the course, which covers not only the productive aspects but also the environmental, social and economic ones, seeks to train producers and professionals capable of responding to the demands of an increasingly competitive market that demands sustainable meat.
Under the guidance of a team of experts with a proven track record in the sector, participants will address key topics such as pasture management, animal health and welfare, nutrition, genetics, reproduction and technologies for productive efficiency, from the perspective of sustainable production.
