Caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani has said that sustainable peace and stability in the region is Pakistan’s priority.

Speaking at the inauguration of the ASEAN Corner at the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad, the Foreign Minister said that the establishment of peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region is Pakistan’s priority and ASEAN should be used to build confidence and prevent conflicts. Jalil Abbas Jilani said that Pakistan as a pioneer of collectivism believes that the implementation of the fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter is the need of the hour.

He said that Pakistan is willing to work with all countries on the basis of mutual interest, respect and trust and this is a wise way to use our capabilities for the benefit of our people. And the beneficiary country, CPEC is a practical manifestation of our belief in the concept of regional connectivity.

He said that it is a matter of regret that SAARC, an organization established on the pattern of ASEAN, has fallen victim to Indian stubbornness despite its immense capabilities.

Jalil Abbas Jilani said that Pakistan and Southeast Asian countries are facing common challenges including climate change, epidemics, terrorism, anti-Islamic sentiments, migration from disputed areas and cyber security, and the need to jointly address issues of mutual concern. Emphasized.
