According to the 2022 Sustainability Sector Index, 99% of Brazilians say they want to have a sustainable lifestyle, but only 14% are actually changing their behavior. The sustainability theme has gained more strength in the corporate market as a whole, and suppliers and consumers are more aware of the topic.
Consumer business supply chains typically account for a large percentage of total greenhouse gas emissions and impact on land, water, biodiversity and geological resources. This has led companies to look for partners committed to sustainability and a consolidated ESG journey, generating changes in relation to suppliers.
“Following this market trend, with industries, this is no different. The segment has sought alternatives to reduce impacts on the environment. The movement has directly altered services aimed at the sector. Currently, in addition to delivering quality, they need to ensure the sustainability and well-being of an entire business chain,” says Claudia Guimarães, director of Field Services at Schneider Electric Brasil.
Modernization of electrical assets
When modernization is a priority, electrical systems are often not at the top of the list, but they represent a fundamental step towards ensuring sustainability. According to a study by the National Confederation of Industry (CNI), most of the sustainable actions in the sector are related to the waste of water and energy (91%).
“In this sense, the search for services that deliver, in addition to assertive analysis, real-time monitoring of how energy is being used and what can be improved has grown. From this, it is possible to reduce waste of resources, costs and problems — such as equipment downtime”, says the director.
With an increasingly modern industrial park, it is possible to implement solutions capable of managing waste and being more efficient in the most diverse aspects, such as decarbonization.
