Around 9:30 a.m., the Minos police zone was informed of the presence of a suspicious package at the Wijnegem shopping center. “A backpack was left in the parking garage, it was secured with a padlock,” said Kim Verdoodt, spokesperson for the Minos police zone.

The police are at the scene and, using closed circuit television footage, are trying to find out who left the backpack. As a precaution, the entrances to the car park have been closed. The shopping center remains open at this time and will not be evacuated. The Dovo mine clearance service has not been called at this time.
