Leaked data on baccalaureate exam scores, which were circulated on social media following the results were announced, revealed strong suspicions that some private schools were tampering with their students’ results.
The data shows large and suspicious differences between the points obtained by students in the national and regional baccalaureate exams, on the one hand, and those obtained in the continuous monitoring exams, on the other hand.
Continuous monitoring exams play an important role in determining the final result of the baccalaureate, as they constitute 25% of the overall average, in addition to another 25% for the regional baccalaureate exam, while the national baccalaureate exams constitute the remaining percentage, i.e. 50%.
The Ministry of National Education is criticised for not carrying out sufficient inspections of private schools to verify the extent to which students’ actual levels match the points they are awarded, especially in certification exams such as the baccalaureate.
These leaks raise major concerns regarding the credibility of the baccalaureate results, especially in light of the increasing phenomenon of “private tutoring” and the spread of “isolated schools” that are difficult to monitor.
Many voices are calling for an urgent investigation into these allegations, and for the necessary measures to be taken to ensure the integrity and transparency of the baccalaureate exams, and to protect the rights of all students.
This phenomenon is extremely dangerous, as it threatens equality among students and undermines society’s confidence in the education system as a whole.
It is important to emphasize that these are just allegations that have not yet been officially verified, but they deserve great attention from the Ministry of National Education and decisive measures to ensure that the exams are conducted honestly and fairly.
